Tori Spelling still hasn't come to terms with her eldest child turning 18.
While speaking with PEOPLE at the 2025 IHeartRadio Music Awards, the 90210 alum, 51, opened up about how the reality of being a mom to an 18-year-old hasn't quite settled in yet. Spelling, who has five children with her ex-husband Dean McDermott, tells PEOPLE that she often doesn't recognize her eldest son Liam's deep voice.
"Now that I'm a single mom, it's me and the five kids living alone. I would say on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis, I'm like, 'What was that voice? Who's down there? Is someone breaking in our house?' she said. "Or he'll walk by and I see a shadow. I'm like, 'It's my kid.' I'm like, 'Wait, you were in my belly. This is nuts.'"

Spelling adds that her youngest son Beau, 8, isn't looking forward to the day his big brother moves out.
"Well, my eight-year-old said the other day, 'I'm really scared, Mom.' And I said, 'Why?' And he goes, 'Because when Liam turned 18, people said oh, it's time. You're going to pack up your bags and head out,'" she says. "He goes, 'Is he going to leave us?' I was like, 'Nah.' I was like, 'He's going to stay forever. No one does that anymore. No one moves out anymore.'"
A year after tying the knot in 2006, Spelling and McDermott welcomed their first baby, Liam. In 2008, their first daughter, Stella, 16, joined the family. They welcomed their second daughter, Hattie, 13, in 2011 and their second son, Finn, 12, in 2012. Their youngest child, Beau, arrived in early 2017 and helped the couple "start over" after hitting a rough patch five years earlier.

In June 2023, McDermott announced his split from Spelling in a now-deleted post on Instagram. Almost year later, Spelling officially filed for divorce in March 2024. She requested sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their five children. Despite their differences, Spelling and McDermott have maintained a good co-parenting relationship for their children.
"Yeah, totally, what a difference a year makes and we've all come so far," she shares with PEOPLE. "And the kids, I am so proud of them for how they're handling it because obviously they have to handle it publicly as well."
"I love the fact that I co-parent with my ex-husband so well," she continues. "It's really a blessing that we can still do family events together and holidays, and I think we're really lucky."
