Hollow Knight Silksong has confirmed its release on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch, addressing fans’ doubts.
Hollow Knight Silksong Will Also Launch on the Original Switch
Silksong has resurfaced thanks to the presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2. The highly anticipated game has returned with a brief and unexpected glimpse.
Team Cherry is still working on Hollow Knight Silksonga game that will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms (including Game Pass) sometime in 2025.
However, the development team behind the sequel also wanted to clear up some confusion that arose following this surprise and the confirmation of its release on Switch 2.
Clearing Up Confusion After the Reveal
Matthew Griffin, head of marketing and distribution for Hollow Knight: Silksong and Crowswornshared an important piece of news on Twitter. The game will also be released on the original Nintendo Switch.
“Just to clarify… Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2,” he said on X/Twitter.
While this may have seemed obvious (since Silksong was originally announced for Nintendo Switch), the confirmation of its successor raised some doubts… now cleared up.
A Cross-Gen Nintendo Title
Hollow Knight: Silksong will be a cross-generational title within the Nintendo console family. It’s still unknown whether the Switch 2 version will feature any enhancements, but we’ll be keeping an eye out.
The good news is that the game is more active than ever after several years of complete silence. Fans are hoping for more news in the coming weeks.
For now, Nintendo has unveiled new images of Silksongwhich showcase a few changes compared to the version that was shown back in 2019.
