This is the internet. I'm not writing an essay. I'll type however I want. Stop trying to be condescending because you're wrong and can't handle it. No, that happens to be exactly your words actually. "India was a success story".

A favorite new saying of mine, that I saw on a Wikipedia discussion about a topic dealing with the British that of course British members whitewashed to seem positive, goes like this: "Any positive impacts or anything beneficial to the countries they "colonized" was an unforeseen byproduct, not benevolence". Stop trying to act like that had anything to do with anything except the fact that they created that infrastructure for themselves, not the people who finally forced them out.

The part in quotation marks is the quote. Not the exact quote, but the same meaning. The important parts are word for word.

It is interesting to see how much of Britain the United States decided to keep.

You kept the adversarial legal framework.

Separation of church and state.

Separation of the executive from the judiciary (not sure about this because are not some members of the judiciary elected in the US?)

Both countries have an two party electoral system which allows governments to be formed on the basis of a minority of votes (not that democratic then!)

Two chambered (suggest and review) political representation system.

Miles and pounds and gallons etc.

Both fought a civil war although one was considerably more bloody than the other.

Don't forget Orion, Baller is not only a successful journalist, an amazing basketball player, workout guru and all round tough guy. He has a complete set of sources to back up his knowledge of the full military might of every country involved in WWII and has the qualifications to play out every single theoretical conceivable scenario of the war based on variables that do not exist. Baller also knew first hand Stalin, Churchill, Hitler and Roosevelt and should he want to, he could use their accounts to back up his case.


Or we could assume the alternative, he is a fraud, full of lies, gullible to the point that believes the first thing he hears and when he actually has a moment of honesty, he states:

The US was established in 1776. It is now 2011. Unless these things were true of the UK in 1776 or earlier, then no, the founding fathers of the US did not bring them over from the UK.

 

True up to a point but many of the institutional similarities do indeed pre-date the founding fathers. For those that did not it is a shame we have both made the same fuck ups:wall: especially the flawed electoral system.

Did you really, wow now here was me thinking it started at the 38th parallel and finished more or less on the 38th parallel, that an armistice was signed and a cease fire negotiated yet no peace treaty has been signed. In a way, The United States, UN Forces, and South Korea are still at war with Communist North Korea.

So basically it was a draw with options for extra time.

Our objective was to keep the North Koreans from taking over South Korea. To lump it in with Vietnam, a place we should've never been in the first place, is an insult.

Would you like to see the document handed down by the King of England at the time calling for the "Extermination of the vile Indians" ? I love how you all try to distance yourselves from the bad parts of your "Empire" while trying to take the credit of the power and land and money and all of that. It doesn't work that way. The second people who make money for YOUR COUNTRY and who rape lands and slaughter people for YOUR COUNTRY, while being completely backed by YOUR COUNTRY step onto a different soil than yours, you try to act like they're not English or like you have nothing to do with what they do, except when it comes to things they "accomplished".

If you knew anything, you'd know that a whole lot of Southern people and actors and influential people back then were of English descent, the majority of them from wealthy plantation type of backrounds.
